Planning Applications

 
Decisions on planning applications are made by Wokingham Borough Council.
 
Wokingham Without Parish Council is consulted about applications within the Parish as are nearby residents and may decide to make comments or objections on each application as decided at their Planning Committee meetings.
 
Comments on relevant issues will be taken into consideration by the Borough Council when the decision is taken. These include:
 
  • Government planning guidance
  • Highway safety & traffic
  • Noise, disturbance & smells
  • Design, appearance & layout
  • Conservation
  • Impact on the appearance of the area
  • Effect on level of daylight & privacy
  • Case law
  • Need for the development
 
Matters which are not relevant include the following:
 
  • Private property rights such as covenants
  • The developer's identity, morals, motives or past record
  • Effect on the value of your property
  • Trade objections based on competition
  • Moral objections
  • The fact that development has already begun
  • Loss of a particular view
  • Inconvenience caused by building works
