Adopt a Garden Scheme

CROWTHORNE AND WOKINGHAM WITHOUT PARISH COUNCILS

ADOPT A GARDEN SCHEME

At present, Wokingham Without Parish Council has allotments at Pinewood but there is a large and steadily increasing demand which cannot currently be filled.

There is no such provision in Crowthorne and Crowthorne Parish Council has failed to find any suitable land within the Parish. We have recently made a joint approach to local landowners in an attempt to find land that can be so used.

We have heard of a scheme called the 'Adopt a Garden Scheme' aimed at bringing together people who have a garden that they cannot look after and people who want a growing space. The owner will get a part of their garden tended and the gardener gets an allotment.

A similar scheme has been running in the Isle of Wight since early in the year and is proving popular and successful.   You can find more details of that particular scheme at:

Before the Councils take a decision about whether to introduce the arrangement here, we need to establish whether there would sufficient demand. If you would be interested in participating in such a scheme please contact us either by email at admin.wwpc@btconnect.com or telephone us on 01344 771425 or by post to Clerk,  Wokingham Without Parish Council, Pinewood Centre Old Wokingham Rd, RG40 3AQ.

When you do contact us please make sure you supply the following information:
